This Sterling Silver ring has a 3mm band, and the tear-drop opal (provided by the Commissioner) has been set in a Sterling Silver bezel surrounded by a Fine Silver (999/1000) 'rope'. Rings are amongst the earliest forms of adornment, and copper examples date back to the Copper Age (c. 1850-1650 BCE). NB Opals are delicate gems and require very gentle cleansing, e.g. lukewarm water and a drop of shampoo and a soft toothbrush. They should not be exposed to ammonia (including vinegar or Windex type solutions), hot solutions, ultrasonic cleaning or any abrasives. |
